Senior Pastor
Rev. Pastor Alvin N. Harvey

Alvin is the oldest of four siblings. At first glance, he appears to be very quiet and unassuming, but if you were to ask his wife, Monique, she would say, “that’s because you have not spoken concerning his passion” and that is his faith in God.

Alvin showed keen interest in the Bible even from an early age, as a little boy his enthusiasm was what drew him near to his Grandfather, and they would read the Holy Scriptures together. This same passion for the scriptures would interest him so much that at the age of ten, he took the Course, The Body of Christ. In 1998, he studied the Course Being the Body of Christ and in the year 2003 he studied the Center for Biblical Leadership course.

At the age of twenty-four, Alvin decided to answer the call to preach and since then he has ministered throughout the Church of God of Prophecy in the Turks and Caicos Islands as well as internationally and also other denominations in the Turks & Caicos Islands. In his capacity as Co-National Youth Director, he has conducted many revival services of the Church of God of Prophecy nationally as well as speaking at many religious and civic functions.

Alvin was set forth as a Lay Minister in the Church of God of Prophecy in 1997 and served as the Turks and Caicos Brass Band Director, under whose leadership, the Band represented the Turks and Caicos Islands at the National Convention of the Dominican Republic in 1999 and Curacao in 2000.

Alvin formally served as Co-National Youth Director (2003 – 2007) and served on the Board as a member of the Caribbean Regional Youth Conference Committee of the Church of God of Prophecy. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of the Living Word Centre – Church of God of Prophecy (Leeward Highway), currently located on the Airport Road, Providenciales. In addition, he is currently the District Overseer of Providenciales East – Church of God of Prophecy, Turks and Caicos Islands.

Alvin says that God has called him to minister and he has purposed within himself to fight for this generation and see them take their rightful place in the Body of Christ.

Pastor Alvin is the husband of Pastor Monique L. Harvey and father of son, Alique V. Harvey and daughter, Graceaniqua N. Harvey. He gives himself wholeheartedly to his family and loves serving them.

Monique committed her life to God at the age of thirteen and ever since that day she has purposed in her heart to follow after Christ. She always had a passion for the things of God and felt her call in life was to help others.

For as far back as she can recall she always loved going to Church. She still has a photographic image of herself as a baby sitting on her Mother’s lap drinking from a bottle; she still remembers her mom taking a bottle to church for her all wrapped up in aluminum foil. She remembers her first rendition at the Church of God of Prophecy, Pine Dale, Grand Bahama, she was not more than five years old; her mom remembers the name of the song, “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know”. These are images in her mind of herself and Church she will always remember.

Growing up in church was an experience for her. It was a spiritual training ground for life in general. She remembered Summer Vacation Bible School, Gleaners’ Band, Children’s Church and Sunday School, memorizing verses and chapters of the Bible, Bible dramatization and many others. Later on, the role would change and she became a Leader of the Gleaners’ Band, a Leader of the Children’s Church, a Sunday School Teacher and a Bible School Teacher.

This seemed to be the trend of her life “…For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required…” As Monique grew in Christ, she served as a Local Youth Director for several years, a Local Choir Director and Assistant Youth Director for several years.

Monique has worked in the secular arena for twelve years. She graduated at the age of sixteen from the then called South Caicos High School in 1987 and took her first job as a Primary School Teacher for two years. She has worked Clerical and Teller duties, Secretarial and Receptionist duties, also as an Insurance Agent and Office Administrator at an Insurance Company and also in various departments at a Bank.

Monique was joined in matrimony in March 1996 and was blessed with two children, and upon conception of her second child she became a full-time Mom. She says that she is blessed beyond measures for what God has given her - A husband who is the head of their home, a committed father and her best friend, Alvin Nathaniel Harvey; her two children Alique V. Harvey and Graceaniqua N. Harvey, who she would not trade for anything this world has to offer.

Monique has completed the Centre for Biblical Leadership Course and she currently sits on the Board along with her husband as a member of the Caribbean Regional Youth Conference Committee. She is Co-National Youth Director and newly appointed Associate Pastor to her husband of the Living Word Centre – Church of God of Prophecy (Leeward Highway) currently located on the Airport Road, Providenciales.
